Windswept

Good Morning!
So happy you have come for a visit today.

As most of you already know, I enjoy playing around with inks to see what I can come up with.
I made this piece using a piece of Yupo paper and applied Alcohol inks from Ranger and Pinata.
When using the Yupo, you never know what kind of a look you will get.
I made another landscape card using the same technique a few weeks ago.

I began with a piece of Yupo and applied the Alcohol ink in shades of blues and greens across the paper.  I added some Ranger Blending Solution and moved the inks around using the edge of an old credit card.  That helped to blend the colours together and got the inks to move.
I set that aside to dry.
I placed the Silhouette Pine Trees from Flonz Stamps into my MISTI, inked with Archival ink and stamped.  I repeated to get a darker impression but still had to add a bit of black with a Sharpie marker to areas that I wanted to appear darker.
I die-cut the frame using the Rectangle Peek a Boo Window from MFT and placed it over the image.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Daisy Bucket using my Misti again.

Garden Grows

Meet today's card.

Playing with a piece of leftover inky paper.
I keep my inky 'fails' in a box in the hopes that I can use them in the future.  That doesn't always happen but today it worked out.

I began with this blue inked paper.  I rubbed Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress inks onto my craft mat, sprayed with water and dragged my paper through the wet ink.
Then using a piece a drywall tape, I stenciled on the background to add depth.
Using a circle die from Spellbinders, I cut out the circle then used the flower die from Memory Box to die cut the flowers first from the circle piece then again on a piece of white cardstock.
I inlaid the white flowers into the sponged piece and glued them in place.
The sentiment from Impression Obsession was stamped using my MISTI.

Flowers for a Friend

Morning.
Meet today's card.  I made it using one of my all time favourite flower stamps by Magenta.
I feel inspired when I pick it up to stamp with.
I'm sure you have some of those favs in your collection too!

I began by placing the flower stamp called Clover Silhouette from Magenta into my MISTI.
I inked with blue Zig markers, sprayed with water then stamped.  After stamping with the blue, I inked with grey Memento ink, stamped off to remove some of the ink and then onto my paper to create a shadow effect.

I stamped the sentiment from Impression Obsession with Versamark and white heat embossed.
Lastly, I rubbed Salty Ocean Distress ink over my card front to help reveal my sentiment.

Framed Trees

 Good Morning.
Today, I am playing with some new to me crafting things I just picked up last week.
I wanted to make a clean and simple card and this is what I came up with.

I began by colouring the Forest Background from Hero Arts with my Zig markers, sprayed with water and stamped onto watercolour paper.  It gave me a wonderful, watercoloured image.
Next, I die cut the stitched frame using a die from MFT called Rectangle Peek a Boo Window and mounted my image behind it.
I stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday and added it onto a piece of blue cardstock.
That's it...pretty simple.

Hope for Spring

Happy Friday.

I was happy I had time to play with a new sentiment stamp that I just picked up from Stampendous.
I wanted to make it the focal point of my card so here is what I did.

I began by placing the flowers by Magenta into my Misti.  I colours them with my Zig markers, sprayed with water and stamped.
Next, I used my Misti again to stamp the sentiment with Memento black ink then clear embossed.
I also stamped the sentiment in the background but heat embossed it with white powder.
I rubbed Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks over my card front to help reveal the sentiment in the background and to pull all the colours together.

Happy Hug Day- CAS Watercolour Challenge

I can't believe we are already half-way through the month and it's time for another card for the

This month our theme is:

I began creating my card by drawing a heart shape on scrap paper and cut it out to use as a mask.
I place my card front in my MISTI then put the mask in place.
I coloured the Bejeweled stamp from Penny Black with my Memento markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I repeated that process until I was happy with the inking of the flower.
I sponged the background with Salty Ocean Distress ink and stenciled over that with some drywall tape.  I also stamped the Script from PB faintly in the background to add more depth and interest.
The sentiment is from a new PB set called Forever and Always.
To help define the sponged area, I pierced around the heart which really helped finish it all off.

Watercolour Beauties- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.
It's time for another card for

Our theme this month is
This month we are casing a gorgeous card made by Therese Calvird.

I decided to make a very clean and simple card by using the French Marigold flower stamp from STAMPlorations.
First, I stamped the flower onto scrap paper and fussy cut it out to use as my mask.
I place the flower stamp into my Misti and stamped it into the corner with Versamark ink, sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat set.  I masked the flower and repeated that process for the second one.
Using my Zigs, I watercoloured the flowers then stamped the sentiment from Penny Black called
Growing Free (I think it's retired) with Archival black ink.

Landscape

 Meet today's card.

Just a fun one I made while playing with some Yupo paper and my Alcohol inks.
I tried my hand at making a landscape which was really fun.

I began with a piece of Yupo paper which is a synthetic, plastic like paper.  I bought mine at the local art store but I know it is readily available.
I applied the Alcohol inks in lines across my paper then did the same with some Blending Solution to help make the colours move.  I also used the edge of an old credit card dipped in Blending Solution to help with moving the ink too.  When it was dry, I stamped the trees from STAMPlorations using Archival ink and my Misti.

I set it aside to dry and when I picked it up again, I noticed a tiny bit of white peeking through by the tree line.  I sat and scratched my head for a moment and wondered how to fix it without messing up the look of the background.
Had an 'awhhh moment' when I noticed the sharpies sitting on my desk.  They are alcohol based so I took a similar green and dabbed it along the tree line to cover the white....TADA!!
I just love the texture it added to the overall look!
I cut a frame using a square Spellbinder die to create a frame then stamped the birthday greeting.

Baby Boy

 Happy Saturday!

Today's card is a super simple one for a new baby boy.
One of my favourite digital images to use for a baby card are the ones from Melonheadz...so cute.

I began by printing the image out twice onto my heavy cardstock, sprayed with Krylon sealer and set aside to dry.  By sealing the paper, I was able to easily colour the baby image with Copic markers and have no bleeding.  I fussy cut out the baby then pop dotted it over the main printed image for interest.
I found a piece of blue gingham in my stash and glued that onto my card front.
Pop dotted the main printed panel over that.

Friendship

 Meet today's card.

I picked up a few new stamping goodies and wanted to play with them.
This beautiful collection of leaves is from a set by WPlus 9.

I began by placing the stamps inside my Misti, coloured the leaves with my new Zig markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I repeated that process until I was happy with the inking.
I love how the water helps blend the inks into each other to give the look of watercolour.

I die cut the 'Awesome' from Neat and Tangled and coloured it with my Zigs and sprayed with water to help blend the colours.
The small 'friend' is from an old set by Papertrey ink that I stamped with Versamark then white heat embossed.

Time to Case- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.

It's time for another new challenge at
The Flower Challenge.
This month we are casing a gorgeous card made by Therese Calvird.

I began by stamping the flowers using a set from Stampin Up onto a piece of leftover inky paper.
I fussy cut them out and set them aside.

I die-cut the 'Blessed' sentiment from Penny Black and inked just the bottom using Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress ink.
I wanted to add my flowers to a textured background so I scored lined using my ScorPal and my ScorBug.  I cut the piece to make a split panel then placed my sentiment overlapping both parts.
I mounted the flowers over the panel then added a black gem to the flower centers.

It Must Be 'Love'

Meet today's card.

It's time for another challenge at the
CAS Watercolour Challenge.
This month our theme is 'LOVE'....easy, right?
Good chance to make a few Valentines.

For my card, I place my cardstock into my Misti, coloured the PB flowers called Trumpet Song with Memento markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I used a paint brush to add more colour and details onto the wet paper.
I stamped the sentiment from the Forever and Always set using my Misti again with black Memento ink.
To finish my card I sponged on some Spun Sugar Distress inks just around the edges.
